Man Cave Shower Gel and Moisturiser

Being a male model and blogger, skin care is something I have to take seriously… albeit reluctantly. Let’s face it, at 33 years old, I’m not getting any younger. Combine this with the fact that as the years pass I’m becoming more and more attuned with the outdoors and spend my time away from the city where possible. This said, I’m also, as I hope that we all are, becoming more and more aware of what I’m putting in and on my body. It’s easier than ever to research ingredients and understand not only the impact they might have on us, but also the environment.

So back to the now: here I am, with my Man Cave product in my man cave… (honesty disclaimer: it’s not actually mine, it’s my mates workshop on his farm in Wales lol) but… what better place to showcase these products!

I was sent a range to try out, including the Lemon and Oak shower gel, Black Spice beard oil and beard control cream, as well as the protective moisturiser. The first thing I noticed is the list of main ingredients on the front of the packaging. Being a natural sceptic I obviously flip them round to look at the full ingredient list. Whilst there are some chemical names that I’m not personally familiar with, there’s also the big disclaimer that the products are cruelty free and vegan friendly. Good to know for my serious vegan friends out there.

All of the products have a very mild scent that shouldn’t interrupt any cologne or other fragrance, or even lack of scent, if you’re a man’s man. Definitely no strong chemical smells here.

The beard oil is light and absorbs quickly whilst the beard control cream adds a bit of texture and thickness, making your beard a little more obedient to styling without clumping up anywhere like some beard balms and clays I’ve used in the past.

The stand out product for me is the Protective Moisturiser face moisturiser for men. Its SPF 20 rated, so it does feel a little thick at first but absorbs quickly leaving a really nice soft feeling. Being ginger and having particularly pale skin I moisturise with and SPF moisturiser daily so this is an easy one to incorporate into my routine over the long term. I’m really excited to see use these products over an extended period of time, especially with all the anti-ageing properties!

In summary, the Man Cave range, on first use, is definitely on a par with products 2 or 3 times the price. Taking into consideration the ethical ethos of the company it seems like a no brainer to give them a go turn your bathroom into your Man Cave.
